Jonty - Biography

" All artists have a need to 'create' and I am no exception if I find an interesting discarded piece of wood, metal, even concrete I try to use it in a sympathetic way to enhance its everyday presence by creating sculpture, furniture and paintings that will capture its unique form forever"

Jonty started creating furniture using driftwood and other found objects in 1992 while living at Sennen Cove in West Cornwall. His love for the sea and surfing have influenced his work although he also believes that everyone is influenced by everything through their senses in order to be alive whether consciously or sub-consciously, positively or negatively.
